Waterbound

Oh, Connecticut weather. Last October we got this, and now there is another storm promising to abruptly end the season. There won't be any snow this time, but once the rain and wind and surge have come and the damage has been done, you can't just go back to sipping hot cider and strolling through pumpkin patches as you did the week before. It's over.

But the photographs of how rustic and cozy it all was, for those few rushed weeks when you could wear a sleeveless sweater-coat as outerwear, remain.

(By the way the version of the song in the title, a song that keeps running through my head and should be running through yours too, is by Carrie Rodriguez.)
